In regards to locating Quaternary O for the purposes of disaggregation.  
Although Q.O isn't made any more, a very similar product is available:  
Miramine OC available from Rhone-Poulenc Inc.  I talked with a chemist 
there and he assured me this was about the same stuff, and it has worked 
reasonably well for me.  Hint:  if you call them to order it, ask about 
trial sizes, I got a gallon sample and its lasted me quite awhile, they 
want to sell it by the drum.  I have used it to clean up Paleozoic 
brachiopods and other invertebrates by boiling the specimens in the stuff 
for a couple hours and for some types of shales it works wonders- for 
others it is worthless.
