Announcement for authors of “Neues Jahrbuch fuer Geologie und Palaeontologie”
Next year 2007 will be the 200th anniversary of the international peer-reviewed journal “Neues Jahrbuch fuer Geologie und Palaeontologie“, published by Schweizerbart´sche Verlagsbuchhandlung in Stuttgart, Germany.
From 2007 onwards the format of this journal will become bigger. The printing space will then be 16.5 x 24.3 cm. Figures should then have a maximum width of either 16.5 or 8.0 cm.
As a consequence the “Monatshefte” volumes (with shorter papers) will be merged with the “Abhandlungen” volumes and published monthly.
When preparing manuscripts you should also consider that journal names in the references will no longer be abbreviated, and an “Abstract” in German language is no longer necessary for papers written in English.
At present, the time from acceptance to publishing of a paper is approximately 6 months. Still, there are no page charges!
We hope that the changes will be acknowledged by the authors of forthcoming papers.
