For some unknown reason the txt didn't come up in the first ms!?... Dear Paleoneters, In the last issue of Palaeontologia Electronica, William R. Riedel, P. David Polly, and Whitey Hagadorn posted an editorial paper titled "Coming of Age: ISI & Googling". The first paragraph stated that "Palaeontologia Electronica has taken two major steps this past year: contributors have been actively probing the potential of the World Wide Web to further paleontology, and ISI began indexing the journal in its Science Citation Index and Web of Science." PE (and another group of e-journals) passed another step last week. GeoRef and the AGI have launched a new page stating that "starting from this year" GeoRef covers a 'limited' number of "journals and series that are openly available on the web". Out of the 18 journals registered on the Open-Access "Geoscience e-Journals" portal (http://paleopolis.rediris.es/geosciences/iconography.html), 9 are already part of this short list (The list does not include those journals dealing with "geography") http://www.agiweb.org/georef/about/openaccess.html http://www.agiweb.org/georef/about/OpenAccessList.htm Please forward this information to your friends, colleagues, librarians, partners ... Best regards, Bruno Granier (Carnets de Geologie - http://paleopolis.rediris.es/cg/ - is one of the selected journals)
