Seasonal Position 

Collections Intern

 Examples of duties:
We are looking for a high energy, enthusiastic individual to assist full
time museum staff in cleaning, repairing, organizing, labeling, and storing
specimens in the museumıs collections.  Specimens include paleontological,
geological, archaeological and biological items.  Other duties that may be
assigned are museum tours and general building maintenance.
 
Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age, be physically able and willing to lift
heavy objects (minimum of 25 lbs), and climb ladders.  Must be able to learn
quickly, have strong organizational skills, and pay close attention to
detail, willing to follow detailed instructions, work at tedious tasks, work
independently, and be willing to work in dusty environments. Some weekends
may be required.  A strong interest and/or background in natural history is
preferred.
 
Pay:  $9.01/hr. minimum of 20 hours/week
Starting date:  June 2006
