To all IPA Members and all paleontologists everywhere: The General Assembly of the International Palaeontological Association will convene on the afternoon of June 20 during the International Paleontological Congress in Beijing (please check the IPC Program for the time and room). The General Assembly is the quadrennial business meeting of IPA. In addition to the usual reports, the Agenda will include (1) ratification of a proposed revised Constitution <http://ipa.geo.ku.edu>, (2) consideration of invitations to host the next International Paleontological Congress in 2010, and (3) election of IPA officers for the term 2006-2010. All IPA Corporate Members in good standing (dues paid for 2006) are asked to send a voting delegate to this meeting. We encourage all other paleontological societies and organizations who would like to become Corporate Members to contact the IPA Treasurer immediately (Dr. Bruce Lieberman <blieber@ku.edu>). As of today, the list includes: Argentina-Asociacion Paleontologica Argentina Australasia-Association of Australasian Palaeontologists Czech Republic-Geological Institute AS CR France-Association Paléontologique Française France-Staff of Carnets de Géologie - Notebooks on Geology India-Palaeontological Society of India Italy-Societa Paleontologica Italiana Japan-Palaeontological Society of Japan New Zealand-The Royal Society of New Zealand Poland-Polish Section of Palaeontologists Romania- Babes-Bolyai University, Department of Geology Spain-Sociedad Española de Paleontologia USA- Paleontological Society All individual IPA Members (individual subscribers to Lethaia) also have voting privileges and are urged to attend. The General Assembly is an open meeting, and everyone is welcome to attend. We hope that many IPC participants will take this opportunity to learn more about the activities of the IPA.
