Prof. Fred Banner, prominent micropaleontologist (Univ College London)
passed away recently. The following memorial service will take
place in April:
*Memorial to Fred Banner*
There will be a brief memorial meeting at UCL on 29th April 2006, 12-2pm
in the Haldane Room to mark Fred's unique contribution to
micropalaeontology and research.
This will be an occasion for family and friends to gather and celebrate
Fred's life. Refreshments will be served, and there will be a few short
speeches.
A Fred Banner Fund for support of graduate research will be endowed from
donations by friends, colleagues, and former students of this original
and influential contributor to the study of planktonic
foraminifera.
