Yes, it's legitimate.  The odd site name is because its usual function is as sort of an archaeological clearinghouse.

I got this this morning.  I'm unfamiliar with "shovelbums", but it appears

legitimate.  Anyone know more about this?  Seems to me they could

get many more than the 4000 signatures they are shooting for.  They are

currently getting many per minute.

I rarely forward emails but I felt this one is important and timely.  As you know ìIntelligentî Design is back in the news.  ID backers constantly talk about the 400 plus names theyíve gathered in support of their movement over the last four years.  There is now an effort underway to gather names on a petition arguing against teaching ID as part of the science curriculum.  The goal is to far surpass the 400 signatures and to do it over the course of a day or so.  The last time I checked there were over 600 names.  Please look at the petition at the following URL and consider signing.  I would also encourage you to let your colleagues around the country know of this effort.
