Dear Palaeonetters, Last month I was fortunate enough to attend a meeting of the Sociedade Brasileira de Paleontologia in Aracaju in the north east of Brazil. I put together a web diary to share the experience with those at home. I found an energetic palaeontological community with a different view as to their potential contributions to science and humanity. The conference theme was "a new look for palaeontology" and it was certainly quite different from most other palaeontological conferences I have attended. For those who are interested the web diary is at:- http://www.es.mq.edu.au/brazil/ For those who find the subject matter of interest or relevance, I'd welcome your thoughts off-list.
