All of the current Shell micropaleontologists made it out of the city.  Al DuVernay left his house by boat from the second story window. 

We have not heard from Ed Picou yet.

Has anybody heard anything concerning the whereabouts and safety of the 
micropaleontological community in New Orleans?  I'm thinking 
particularly of Brian O'Neill and Mike Styzen (and any others) at Shell, 
and of the people at Paleo Data and Total Biostratigraphics.
