Dear Peter-- That was a great Op/Ed! I would encourage others in the US to write to their editorial pages. The more letters and pieces that get published, the more that people will understand what is truly going on: an attack on science in America. It is everywhere, not just in paleobiology, but climate change research, environmental protection and biotech. By the way, do people know that the cell phone company Verizon supports the Discovery Institute? In the NY Times series last week on the escalating intelligent design movement, it was revealed that the Verizon Foundation is a contributor. I think it is pretty ironic that a science-and-technology based company would be supporting an organization that is attempting to undermine science education in the US. If you would like to contact them about this, here is their URL: http://www22.verizon.com/customersupport/contactus/corporate/verizonfoundati on/ Switching phone carriers might also help send them a message.
