Stunning! I agree, kudos to U-Haul. Sandy

Hi all,
I wanted to bring to your attention a surprisingly
nice use of fossils by the corporation U-Haul. (For those outside the US,
U-Haul rents trucks and moving equipment for people who plan to move
themselves.) As many here probably notice, they often have murals on their
trucks showcasing various things from each US state. I was excited
recently to see one showcasing
Tullimonstrum, the state fossil of
Illinois. I went to their website (
http://www.uhaul.com/supergraphics/) and was amazed, frankly, with the
lengths they went to provide excellent and entertaining educational
information. It's rather comprehensive, with a frank discussion of
tectonics, the important legacy of amateur paleontology with the Mazon Creek,
and no backtracking or watering-down when discussing evolution and the age of
the deposits. There's even an interview with Dr. Don Mikulic at the state
survey and information to visit the Mazon Creek. The animations and
figures are also rather good.
Kudos to U-Haul for such excellent public
service!
Cheers,
Phil
