paleonet Disaggregating coprolites

All,
The Smoky Hill Chalk produces a large number of comprolites, some of
which contain fish bones, and other remains:

Most are considered to have originated from sharks, although Williston
and others mentioned finding coprolites that they believed were from
mosasaurs.

I think most are composed primarily of calcium apatite which does not
appear to react with acetic acid. .

Given that most of the remains potentially inside these coprolites are
in rather fragile condition, mechanical methods are a bit risky. Is
there another, safer method of disaggregating them?
