Research and Teaching Position at ETHZ in Micropaleontology

We seek a junior scientist for a fixed-term (non-tenure track, 2-year
renewable, 4-year maximum) Assistent(in)/ Oberassistent(in) position in the
Micropaleontology Group of the Department of Earth Sciences. Starting date
can be from August 2005.
 
We expect candidates to have a completed PhD degree and ideally one or two
years of post-doctoral research experience in
micropaleontology/paleoceanography, and/or in molecular biology.
 
We are looking for a candidate who is interested in profiting from our
available automated microscopy systems (see link at
www.erdw.ethz.ch/thierstein <http://www.erdw.ethz.ch/thierstein> ) or will
establish internal expertise in the molecular genetic analysis of
single-celled microplankton. The successful applicant will also participate
in teaching courses and advising students, and will aim to develop his or
her experience with a view to a future application for a senior academic
position.
