Re: paleonet Re: suitable discussion

In the late cold war-years there was an article in Scientific American

that discussed (more ore less)

a) how do Russians/Americans see themselves,
b) what do Russians think, what Americans think about them
c) what do Americans think, Russians think about them

If memory does not fail, there were significant differences between a,b,c.

I thought, I had an idea of what ID could mean which supposedly matches
(reasonably well) how 'ID-defenders' would define ID themselves.

After reading a number of messages on this chain, I get the feeling that I
don't know what ID means to 'ID-defenders' and that this might be the case
of quite a number of contributers to this chain (apologies if this is
incorrect).

So, the base of this discussion is apparently
c) what do ID-opponents (in fact, it appears each of us has his personal
definition) think, ID-defenders think.

A discussion is perhaps more fruitful if there is a common basis on which to
discuss. Perhaps there is somebody out there who feels competent to give one
(without polemics).

or did I miss the message where an ID-defender has defined what ID means to
ID-defenders (if such general definition exists).

All the best,

Niko
