Dear Frank,

I would say regarding above (translated from German):

He said: "Go around and teach all peoples."

2000 years ago: What was known at that time.

21st century: The knowledge of today.

E.g.: What he encouraged was: Increasing knowledge.
(= not only for some high clericals but for all).

I might thus suggest, possibly to be forwared to the evangelicals:

It might be sorted out what Jesus said himself (or is attributed
in the bible as "by God / Jesus / the angels" and what it means
and what bishops/mullahs made out of it.

Thus, "heavy bible readers", should be among the most
open-minded for science (teaching requires knowing).

Possibly this might help to raise some open-mindedness in bible people.

(trying to debunk someone does not help to raise open-mindedness;
one of the first steps is to reach people where they are (one question,
a few days ago, asked for pragmatic possibilities) and then to
build bridges).
