The moderator of the USA based vrtpaleo list has issued a polite request that ID and creationism not be discussed on that list anymore. Sylvia Hope Subject: RE: paleonet Paleonet , teaching Science, creacionism and SPAM Hi, I totally agree with Patricio that unfortunately this is a USA problem. You can use the VRTPALEO (vrtpaleo@usc.edu) based THERE to develop such ideas. Nevertheless, looking at how this issue was solved by most of Europeans a century ago may help you. However, I would like that you accept my sincere support in this matter. This subject is concerning mainly to our US colleagues. The palaeontologists from the old Europe almost forgot this discussions about one century ago (much much recent however was in the Spanish history, believe me). What I am suggesting is that people interested in the social problems of creacionism (pro- or contra-), should subscribe to a list about that (or create it). I understand that certain creacionism threads could be of interest for the palaeontologists however, Paleonet is beginig to be SPAM-ed with such creacionism threads. Palaeontologists asking for new research ideas, methods not weel known on fossil preparation, difficult to find bibliography, research doubts, the contact e-mail of a missing colleague, press releases, notes on meetings or simply asking for help are becoming a clear minory in Paleonet.
