Education and Research Fellowship
The Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences (CIRES) at the University of Colorado at Boulder welcomes applications for a six-to twelve-month fellowship.
This fellowship provides a unique opportunity for a geoscientist, college-level educator, or post-doctoral scientist to simultaneously develop an educational project and enhance his/her scientific research. Of special interest to CIRES is the impact this Fellowship may have in enhancing science education and research opportunities among a broad and diverse group of students, and in building new partnerships with other U.S. educational institutions.
Applicants' proposed research and educational interests should complement CIRES' current Research Themes in the following areas:
  • Advanced Modeling and Observing Systems
  • Climate System Variability
  • Geodynamics
  • Planetary Metabolism
  • Regional Processes
  • Integrating Research
Science education research and outreach includes K-12 science education projects, undergraduate course development and design, and communication of research to the public.
For more information concerning CIRES' research and outreach programs, and full text on research themes, please visit our web sites at http://cires.colorado.edu/themes and http://cires.colorado.edu/~k12. Additional information may also be seen at http://cires.colorado.edu/~k12/ref. Prospective applicants should contact CIRES in advance to discuss proposed plans, particularly for educational activities.
