Re: paleonet American fundamentalism and world paleontology

I think the public education side of things is important.  While not strictly palaeontology, the Queensland Division of the Geological Society of Australia produces booklets for sale on the rocks and landscapes of Queensland.  We have also release a booklet on some Queensland National Parks (with at least 1, hopefully 2, more of these to be produced).  These books are used by many schools in the relevent areas.  These booklets have been attacked by Answers in Genesis so we must be doing something right.  ^_^

We also produce pamplets on areas of interest around the State.  These are used by tourism groups and other people.  They are available for free as PDF from our website.  Apparently downloads of these PDF documents are so high that it is only by the good grace of the Federal GSA that we do not pay extra for our webpage rental.

I can only hope that all of this in someway helps in educating the public and thus holds back the wave of anti-knowledge pushed forward by creationists.

The Queensland Divison of the GSA webpage is at

Info on the booklets can be found at

And the free PDF documents can be found at
