paleonet Situation at St. George Dinosaur Tracksite, Utah

Hi Folks,

As promised, I am sending you a quick message to tell you about how things are going at the St. George Dinosaur Discovery Site at Johnson Farm (this is the final official name agreed on by city council two weeks ago).

Construction of the museums 1st phase began at the beginning of the week.  The position of the building was moved appropriately to place the now infamous squatting Eubrontes trace within the walls of the building.  The 1st phase construction should be completed within 4 to 6 months, however due to the rising costs of steel we are short approximately $200,000 to reach this goal.  We need help in raising these funds to see this first building to near completion.

Please email any information that may be of use to the following people:

Gary Watts, Chair of the St. George City Dinosaur Advisory Board

Andrew R. C. Milner, St. George City Paleontologist

Theresa Walker, St. George Dinosaur Tracksite Coordinator

Information on the St. George tracksite may be viewed starting on page 4 of Survey Notes v. 34, no. 5. http://geology.utah.gov/surveynotes/snt34-3.pdf

Regards,
Andrew
