Garry Jones, husband, father, foram specialist, Biostratigraphy Co-ordinator for Unocal in Houston, recent Past-President of the North American Micropaleontogy Section of SEPM (NAMS) and moving force behind the upcoming 2005 Joint Conference on "Geological Problem Solving with Microfossils" passed away at the tragically young age of 51 very early Friday morning, May 7th.

Garry was a major presence in the world of industrial micropaleo and biostratigraphy, a liason to academia, a leader, and an all around fine person. He will be sorely missed. Our community is diminished by his absence.
