> I have just only answer to questions outlined from my initial point >such as 9/11. I think that the list members (particularly American members) thought it was deliberately obtuse to ignore the fact that "9/11" has become code for "Terrorists attacked the United States and killed 3,000 people on that day." Bringing up Catalonia nationalism came across as insensitive. This non-paleontologic tangent detracted from the bonafide paleontological content of the original inquest. I was fascinated to find out that Kepkupaiui turned out to be a mistranslation from the Greek alphabet for a spawning ground for loggerhead turtles. Given that uniformitarianism doesn't really work unless we understand the details of the ecology of modern organisms, it seems silly to consider this a 'non-paleontological topic'. <soap box removed> -- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ William P.
