You must have a Ph.D. or equivalent, have published research papers on reef palaeobiology, and have demonstrated the ability to generate external income to support research projects. You should also be a self-motivated researcher with a track record of collaborative research. You should be willing to contribute to Museum media and outreach programmes, and be able to communicate science to a wide audience. Relevant post-doctoral research experience, experience writing grant applications, teaching and outreach experience, a collections based research approach, and knowledge of curatorial procedures are all highly desirable, as are good organizational and team-working skills, and a high degree of creativity. The position will be a permanent appointment subject to a satisfactory review at the end of the third year of employment.
