Dear colleagues, This is to announce a new web site of the Division of Invertebrate Paleontology at the University of Kansas Natural History Museum and Biodiversity Research Center. The site can be found by visiting http://ipa.geo.ukans.edu/InvertPaleo/ Hosted on a computer in the University of Kansas Paleontological Institute (http://www.ku.edu/~paleo/), this new site contains three databases featuring macrofossils, microfossils, and trace fossils from the Museum's collections. Both the macrofossil and microfossil databases feature animated, 3-dimensional images of the specimens. The images can be manipulated by the user. Images were prepared by Bryce Ludwig of the Museum, and the web site is maintained by Mike Cormack of the Paleo Institute staff. The microfossil database contains 227 fusulinid slides, while the macrofossil database contains 123 specimens. The trace-fossil database contains only seven specimens at this time. New images of fossils will be added on a regular basis to each database. Some of the animated, 3-D images are large files that may not work properly on older computers or computers with slow internet connections. Questions or comments should be directed to paleo@ku.edu. Best wishes, Roger Roger L.
