For what it is worth both new and secondhand copies of Brenchley & Harper's 'Palaeoecology: Ecosystems, environments and evolution' may be purchased over the internet from www.amazon.co.uk from a variety of sources for less than UK £35 or about US $56, so that even with postage and packing the total cost will be significantly less than US $100. I notice that the US website www.amazon.com offers this book at US $110 plus postage and packing which is clearly over priced, and I suppose the difference is to account for their shipping costs from the UK.
