paleonet GSA Seattle

Dear Paleontologists

For those of you attending the GSA this year, Dr Norm MacLeod, Keeper of
Palaeontology at The Natural History Museum, London, and editor of the
PaleoBase CD ROMs, will be on hand at the Blackwell booth (#114) between
2:30 and 4:00 pm on the afternoon of Tuesday 4 November. Norm will be
demonstrating the third and final part of the PaleoBase Macrofossils
project (cnidarians, sponges, echinoderms, problematica), and a new benthic
foram database also built on the Compustrat platform. Norm will be happy
to discuss technical aspects of how the composite digital images used in
PaleoBase were assembled, offer suggestions for how the software can be
used in course programmes, and accept suggestions for future improvements
or modifications.

See you in Seattle
