Well, I added a table/matrix of genera counts to the front of the List, and now we know at last that there are currently 550 well established, scientifically valid dinosaur generic names (out of a total of 1012 published names). Counts and totals for six other categories and for all 26 initial letters of the alphabet are included. Some pretty strange statistics are comprised in the table. To find the generic names for a given letter, click on the letter in the table as you did with the name finder in previous editions of the DGL. In compiling the table, I found and fixed a few minor typos and updated some nomina dubia and synonymy information for about a dozen names. I also made a few of the non-dinosaurian entries more consistent. I'll probably be tuning the counts a bit over the next few weeks, and of course whenever a new name is added or an old name has its status changed, this will affect several of the numbers in the table. I've also made corresponding changes to the introductory text. Anyone who'd like to check the counts, please let me know if you find errors. I forgot to thank the indomitable Fred Bervoets and especially his DinoData website for helping with citations for the extensive changes reported in DGL update #200.
