All, In working with a fish tooth conglomerate from the Carlile Shale (Turonian) of north-central Kansas, we have come across some unusual bony fish teeth (quite small... 1-3 mm). The teeth have bony bases and clear amber or black enamel crowns. _Hadrodus priscus_ and a pycnodont are both found in the Carlile Shale, but these teeth don't seem to be from either. I've posted pictures at: http://www.oceansofkansas.com/temp.html Any ideas would be appreciated.. please reply off-list: mike@oceansofkansas.com Regards, Mike Everhart Adjunct Curator of Paleontology Sternberg Museum of Natural History Fort Hays State University, Hays, KS http://www.oceansofkansas.com Oceans of Kansas is a 2003 Scientific American Sci-Tech Website http://www.scientificamerican.com/
