Please pass this on to anyone who you think might be interested... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PALAEOBIOLOGY TECHNICIAN (Part Time) UNIVERSITY OF OXFORD, DEPARTMENT OF EARTH SCIENCES A person is sought to work on computer editing of fossil images using innovative in-house software. These fossils form the basis of a high profile research project on the Herefordshire (Silurian) Konservat-Lagerstätte - see e.g. Nature 2001, (410), 461-63 or www.earth.ox.ac.uk/herefordshire for further information. The project is hosted by the Department of Earth Sciences at Oxford, under the direction of Dr Derek Siveter (Oxford), Professor Derek Briggs (Yale) and Professor David Siveter (Leicester). The person appointed will work as part of a team and in particular with the postdoctoral researcher on the project, Dr Mark Sutton (Oxford). Applicants should have efficient and accurate computer skills, and a meticulous approach to graphical data manipulation. They should also have an interest or background in biology and/or palaeontology, and preferably be available to begin work in May. The position would be for a minimum of three days a week over two years, and is funded by the Leverhulme Trust. The salary range is £12997-£14581, pro-rata.
