All, I recently had an inquiry regarding the discovery of fossils on Seymour Island by the Swedish explorer, Otto Nordenskiold in 1902-03... Apart from the phrase, "he discovered fossils on Seymour and Vega islands...", I have found nothing else. A check of the BFV shows a number of paleo-papers were published by Otto Nordenskiold in the early 1900s, but none seem to deal with fossils from Seymour Island or Antarctica. Is anyone aware of what was discovered on Seymour Island or if the material was published? Please reply off list to mike@oceansofkansas.com Regards, Mike Everhart Adjunct Curator of Paleontology Sternberg Museum of Natural History Fort Hays State University, Hays, KS http://www.oceansofkansas.com
