North-Central Section, Paleontological Society Symposium, 2003: Evidence and Evolutionary Consequences of Predation in the Fossil Record Abstracts are invited for the 2003 NC Paleo Society Symposium, to be held in conjunction with the NC GSA meetings in Kansas City, Missouri on March 23-25. Symposium description: Fossil evidence for predator/prey interaction is known for many different organisms in a variety of physical environments throughout the Phanerozoic. In this symposium we will review this evidence and discuss questions bearing on the possible evolutionary consequences of this biotic interaction. The symposium will provide forum for following up on the Paleo Society’s short course, "The Fossil Record of Predation" offered at the annual GSA meeting in October. Abstract deadline is Dec 16 2002. Abstracts should be sent to GSA electronically via their web site http://www.geosociety.org/. An abstract submission fee of $10 will be charged. If authors cannot submit electronically they are asked to contact Nancy Carlson ncarlson@geosociety.org (303 357 1061) to make arrangements. For information on the symposium, please contact the symposium organizer, Dr. Danita Brandt brandt@msu.edu (517 355 6595) or technical program chair, Dr. Syed E.
