Fellowship in Geology (Palaeontology) at Tromsoe University Museum,

The post is attached to the Department of Geology at Tromsoe University
Museum. The Fellow will be concerned with research within the field of
palaeontology, preferably macropalaeontology. The department has several
on-going research projects in macropalaeontology, principally concerned
with taxonomy, biostratigraphy and palaeoecology based on various groups of
invertebrates.

The period of tenure of the fellowship should normally culminate in a
doctorate. The person appointed must document expertise in geology at the
cand.scient. (M.Sc.) level. A scientifically founded description of a
doctorate project may be enclosed with the application. The normal period
of tenure for the fellowship is 4 years, with 25% obligatory work per
year.The gross salary is at present NOK 256.031-285.131 per annum. There
will be a deduction of 2 per cent to be paid into the compulsory state
pension fund.
