Subject: NU Museum Director
The U. Nebraska Museum is looking for a new director (the current one is
retiring this year). The last search was declared unsuccessful when
candidate #1 turned the offer down, so they are starting again.
If I must say so myself, the NU Museum is a pretty good one (it is also
"The State Museum" by the way; being a small state, a lot centers around
Lincoln and the university). It has a strong V.P. mission and huge
collections of Great Plains fossil mammals (Nebraska has more fossil
elephant sites than any other state... bet you didn't know that).
Anyway, if you know anyone who might be interested in being a Museum
Director and living in Lincoln, please mention this to him/her. The
Director also gets an academic appointment at UNL and a home-tenure
department to return to afterwards if he/she desires.
