All, Just a short note to announce a new index page at Oceans of Kansas that may be of some use or, at least, have some historical significance in the study of paleontology. I've scanned a number of short papers.... mostly from the 1860s and 1870s... the usual suspects.. Cope, Marsh, Leidy, and others that are not as well known. Many of the papers come from the American Journal of Science, the Proceedings of the Academy of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia, or Science. Most are old enough that they may not be readily available to those without access to a good library. Although this is not "new" information, it is interesting to see how things were done way back then. .... a bit humorous at times .. and a couple of big mistakes..... I tried to preserve the appearance of the original journals wherever possible. These ePapers are found in HTML format at: < http://www.oceansofkansas.com/ePapers.html > ... and so no one is too disappointed, I have to admit that they mostly concern marine fossils from the Western Interior Sea... although there is one dinosaur thrown in for good measure :-) A couple are links to other sites... More will be added as time allows. Regards, Mike Everhart Adjunct Curator of Paleontology Sternberg Museum of Natural History Fort Hays State University, Hays, KS
