Folks, Stalkless crinoids are quite widely kept in domestic marine aquaria. They are (as far as I know) all tropical species mostly collected from South East Asian reefs. Genera _Himerometra_ and _Lamprometra_ are reportedly the dominant taxa. In captivity they do reasonably well provided they have adequate food and fishes are not kept with them. They are well known for their habit of climbing in front of the filter outlet, where the current is strongest, and losing arms if the current is too strong. They also appear to be nocturnal, ambling into shady nooks by day. They are surprisingly mobile. They are all pretty small animals, no more than 20 cms in diameter. All the best, Neale. -------------------------------------------------------------------- >From Neale Monks' Macintosh PowerBook, at...
