The best source on the Eocene land connections between North America and
Europe is McKenna, M. C. (1983), "HOLARCTIC LANDMASS REARRANGEMENT,
COSMIC EVENTS, AND CENOZOIC TERRESTRIAL ORGANISMS," Annals of the
Missouri Botanical Garden 70:459-489. He cites all the earlier
literature on the subject.
