******************************************* ******************************************* Full Time Lecturer Department of Geology, University of Dayton Applications are invited for a non-tenure track nine-month Full Time Lecturer appointment for academic year 1997-1998 (8/97-5/98) with the possibility of renewal. Primary teaching responsibilities will include lecture-sections of general education courses: Introductory Geology (for non-majors); and the Geology course in the new Integrated Natural Science Sequence (The Dynamic Earth). The lecturer will also be responsible for teaching two upper level majors courses and laboratories: paleontology (Fall '97) and sedimentology (Winter '98). This is a teaching appointment designed to complement a department of 4 full-time faculty committed to undergraduate teaching. Demonstrated achievement and experience in teaching at the undergraduate level would be an advantage. New facilities within the department include an Integrated Natural Science Sequence laboratory and a new undergraduate lab. There is access to GIS equipment and a newly established Environmental Instrumentation laboratory. Applicants are expected to hold a Ph.D. by the August 1997 start date, or be near to completion.
