Folks, Since there have been several posts in the past asking where one could get slides for picking microfossils, I pass along a note that was posted to the conodont web site. It looks like a major supplier is carrying them again. -- : James F. Mahaffy e-mail: mahaffy@dordt.edu Biology Department phone: 712 722-6279 Dordt College FAX 712 722-1198 Sioux Center, Iowa 51250 John Repetski reports that he has been able to obtain micropaleontological slides with aluminum holders from Curtin-Matheson Scientific after a period during which they were unavailable. For the benefit of those Panderers who did not have a lifetime supply or an alternative source, the following information may be helpful. I have just phoned the number John gave me (1-800-879-2670, ext. 2834, or by Fax at 301-470-7390) and verified that the items listed below are in stock or on order. The prices that were quoted to me are as shown. [I rationalize that everything costs more than was once the case except Panderer's salaries.] Paleoslides, 18 ply --$59.95/100 Black, 60 grid, 18 ply, Catalogue # 167-049 White, 60 grid, Catalogue # 167-049 (indicate white background, special order) Paleoslides, 28 ply Black, 60 grid, 28 ply, Catalogue # 167-064 --$70.95/100 White, 60 grid, 28 ply, Catalogue # 037-719 --$54.50/100
