Origins of Man Producers response

Once again we see the fundamental (and in this case, intentional) mis-
understanding of evolution in the Origins of Man Producer's response to
criticism from the scientific community: "After all, the theory of evolution
is just a theory, and not a fact..."
Part of the blame for the Producers being able to make such a misstatement
lies squarely with us. Evolution IS a fact, it is an empirical observation.
The theory of natural selection is a "just a theory", and there are indeed
other theories which seek to explain the FACT that life has evolved in the
past, and continues to evolve today.
We will make no progress against misinformation from groups like the Origin
of Man Producers until we ourselves make it clear in all our press statements,
public lectures, textbooks, etc., that evolution is a fact. Period. And
then, and only then, discuss the various theories proposed to explain WHY
life evolves.
