Perhaps it is more important for paleontology papers to go through
the process of peer review prior to wide spread distribution than it is for
other diciplines. There is not a group of 'flat-earthers' out there that
would take advantage of publishing: false, made-up, and religiously biased
"facts" about subjects in physics.

If we allow unreviewed publication, what keeps the 'other guys' from
reporting what they please? Tell a lie long enough, and it may not be a
lie any longer. At least now when they publish it isn't in the
paleontological journals.

I would like to hear from others that have an opinion about this.
Perhaps I worry too much. I would hate to give those text book baners
'scientific' papers they could hold in front of un(paleo)educated
 school board members.

I'd like to thank Norm for all the amazing effort he's put into Paleonet.

 Thanks, Norm.
