To all Paleonet subscribers:

   I would like to remind subscribers that the deadline for the
W. Storrs Cole Memorial Research Award for 1996 is 15 February
(postmark date).  This award was established to support
research in invertebrate paleontology.  To qualify, you must be
a GSA Member or Fellow between 30 and 65 years of age, and you
must have published one or more significant papers on
micropaleontology.  Funds cannot be used for work already
accomplished, but recipients of a previous award may reapply if
additional support is needed to complete their work.

  The amount of the award in 1996 will be $10,000.
