Not quite true, I'm afraid. Pegasus certainly has such filters, but Eudora,
which I'm using (about the only feasible option for the Mac) doesn't. At
any rate, it seems to me better to stop the noise before it multiplies to
every subscriber to the list, rather than leaving it to everyone to get
their own earplugs. All attempts to stop the noise at the source (by
information to the subscribers) have so far failed; the next logical step
would be to try to stop it at the amplifier, i.e. the Paleonet listserver.
If that fails, too, I guess we just have to cover our ears with assorted
filters or bear with the noise.

Norm's reply is encouraging, though. And thanks, Norm, for news about the
coming upgrade in connection with the move to Berkeley. You and the NHM
staff deserve the break as well as a big applause from us all for your
magnificient work to get Paleonet up and running.
