I thanked the writer for his interest; pointed out that the concept of changing graviational fields both violates uniformitarianism and would produce universe-wide effects that there is no evidence for; and that his understanding of evolutionary history was incorrect. I also referred him to several books on the history of life. As his being a closet Velikovskyite: wouldn't they like the idea of cometary impact?
