Paleonet Publication Exchange Program (2/2)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
			 NEW PUBLICATION EXCHANGE LIST
last update Monday 10 July 1995
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear PaleoNetters:
Here is the nineteenth weekly installment of the Publication
Exchange listing as organised via CommNet and PaleoNet.

If you have any duplicate or surplus publications you would like to pass on
to other workers, or if you are looking for some publication, post a message
to CommNet@nhm.ac.uk giving a brief description of what you are offering/
looking for (title alone will probably do in most cases) together with your
email and snail mail addresses. You do not need to be a subscriber to
CommNet to post messages to it. I will monitor CommNet and update this
list on a weekly basis.

This is at present an experiment so the exact rules as to how the system
will work are still under development. For this weekly installment,
I have carried over the messages from previous lists with the exception
of the long list of ostracode reprints held by the ostracode literature
exchange program, which is still available in publ_exchange1 (on the nhm
ftp site available at ftp.nhm.ac.uk).

The list below is divided into two parts: WANTS (people looking for things)
and OFFERS (people with surplus publications for offer). Each message is
given as it was posted to CommNet together with the contact address of the
person who posted it. The number (e.g. posted to publ_exchangeXX) refers to
the week when the posting was received. Each posting stays on the list for
10 weeks, after which time I will contact the poster again to see whether they
would like to posting to remain in place for another 10 weeks.

If you can respond, contact the person directly, but also please let me know
so that I can keep the listings up to date.

Tim.

OFFERS:

1. Posted to publ_exchange14 15 May 1995:

PUBLICATIONS OFFERED

I'm moving house soon and will need to shed some excess paper. The
following journal runs are offered for free provided that the recipient
arranges for collection in person from my home in West London.
Please reply to me privately by email: for my shame I haven't yet
learned how to access the list by ftp.

* Palaeontology vols 32 (parts 3 and 4); vols 33-37 (1990-95) complete

* Biological Journal of the Linnean Society vols 39-54 (1990-1995)
complete apart from one or two numbers

* Zoological Journal of the Linnean Society vols 89-113 (1987-1995)
complete apart from one or two numbers

* Historical Biology vols 1-3 (1988-1990) complete

* Biological Reviews vols 60-69 (1985-1994) complete

and last but by no means least

* Nature vols 331-374 (1988-1995) almost complete, but a little patchy
around 1990 and 1991. Warning -- this takes up more than 7 ft (2.3m) of
shelf space.

Tim: Since I started the whole thing, I thought I better get off my butt
and start getting out my extras and stuff. For the record my interests are
in fossil arthropods (as with you) especially trilos and eurypterids, dinosaurs
and other lower tetrapods, and finally evolutionary and morphometric studies.

The first items are not as good as I'll get by a long shot but were where I
grabbed:

1. Lentin, J.K. & G.L. Williams. 1973. Fossil Dinoflagellates: Index to
Genera and Species. Geol. Surv. Canada Paper 73-42, 176 p.

2. Legault, J.A. 1973. Chitinozoa and Acritarcha of the Hamilton Fm.
(Middle Devonian), southwestern Ontario. Geol. Surv. Canada Bull. 221, 103 p.

3. Hofmann, H.J. 1969. Stromatolites from the Proterozoic Animikie and
Sibley Groups, Ontario. Geol. Surv. Canada Paper 68-69. 77 p.

Oh and can you send me the latest list, no matter what I seem to try I
can't download the way you specify from my susytem. Thanks

Much more to come - Ralph Chapman

There is a fine exchange program on this net (paleonet) If there are
duplicates that you have, many Dinophiles will gladly trade for their
duplicates. (this saves a bundle of money)

The only duplicates I have right now, are Colberts paper on Coelophysis.
Willing to trade for any dino papers, or papers on prep techniques.

As detailed in the introductory section to this file, the list of reprints
currently held by the ostracode literature exchange program, administered by
Rosalie Maddocks (Email: rmaddocks@uh.edu) is still available in publ_exchange1
which is on the ftp site at ftp.nhm.ac.uk. For further information about that
scheme, contact Rosalie.
