Progress is mostly faster than expected. There is a WWW homepage in the U.K. that collects links to indexes of journals in the geosciences. The address is: http://www.glg.ed.ac.uk/~ajsw/doc/journals_FAQ.html I think Paleontology journals are well advised to distribute their list of contents and potentially other text (abstracts?) through their own WWW pages and link these to the existing server. The page holds some articles from journals in addition, e.g. the GeoLogic articles from Terra Nova. Much is in an experimental stage which reminds me of the discussion we had recently about electronic publishing. Up to now geophysics and hard rock journals contribute. Paleontology would increase the diversity on this server (and would make the geoscience ecosystem more stable?).
