Berlin Museum (fwd)

Dear colleagues,

Svante Paabo from Munich is on the search committee for candidates for
director of the institute of systematic zoology at the Museum fur Naturkunde
and Humboldt Museum in Berlin. He asked me to think of a few names, and
agreed with my suggestion that a posting on the net would be a good idea.

This is NOT an advertisement as such -- only a request for suggestions
for suitable candidates, which should be sent offnet to Professor Paabo
(paabo@zi.biologie.uni-muenchen.de). An abbreviated version of Paabo's
posting to me follows.

Apologies for duplicate postings on TAXACOM and PALEONET.

> Dear Henry,
> This is just to remind you to ask around for possible candidates for the

> functional morphology, ecology, biogeography, molecular evolutionary biology
> etc. He/she should be expected to reorganize the place completely and
> turn it into an internationally competative research institution. This
> will undoubtedly take great management skills in addition to scientific
> qualifications. The Institute has 50 scientific and technical staff
> members.
