Press F1 for help with VNM error codes. VNM3043: Alan Pedder@PALEO@GSC CALGARY ------------------ Error number Explanation Follows ------------------- VNM3043 -- MAILBOX IS FULL. The message cannot be delivered because the recipient's mailbox contains the maximum number of messages, as set by the system administrator. The recipient must delete some messages before any other messages can be delivered. The default limit is 1000 messages. Administrators can set lower limits if required using the Change mailbox settings function available in the Manage User menu (MUSER). The 1000 message limit is the maximum allowed by the Mail program. If this limit is reached, the recipient must delete some of the messages before the mailbox can accept any more incoming messages. ---------------------- Original Message Follows ---------------------- Comments: If anyone wishes to subscribe to this international paleo network for a variety of messages, queries, etc. and needs instructions how, let me know. In the meantime I will continue to forward the odd item that seems of general interest - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Original Message - - - - - - - - - - - - - - To: paleonet@nhm.ac.uk From: Timothy McCormick <tmcc@geology.gla.ac.uk> Date: Monday, May 1, 1995 at 4:00:31 pm EDT Attached: Headers.822 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- THE PALAEO-PUBLICATION SWAP SHOP ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dear PaleoNetters: I have just placed the 12th weekly installment of the PaleoNet Publication Exchange list on the Natural History Museum ftp site (I skipped week 11 as there were no new postings that week). ----------------------------------- If you have any duplicate or surplus publications you would like to pass on to other workers, or if you are looking for some publication, post a message to CommNet@nhm.ac.uk giving a brief description of what you are offering/ looking for (title alone will probably do in most cases) together with your email and snail mail addresses. You do not need to be a subscriber to CommNet to post messages to it. I will monitor CommNet and update this list on a weekly basis. Postings stay on the list 8 weeks in the first instance, longer if required. THIS SERVICE HAS BEEN GETTING RESULTS. ----------------------------------- The current list is available on the NHM ftp site for all to peruse. It is called publ_exchange12. To see it: ----------------------------------- FROM UNIX: Give command: ftp ftp.nhm.ac.uk When ftp asks for your Name, type: anonymous When ftp asks for your Password, type your full email address (eg: in my case this is tmcc@geology.glasgow.ac.uk - you do not see anything appear on the screen). Type: ls (this lists the available files and directories) Type: cd paleonet (this puts you in the Paleonet directory) Type: cd Publication_Exchange (this puts you in the Publication_Exchange directory) Type: ls (This lists the available files - there are two). Type: get publ_exchange12 (This gets you a copy of the file publ_exchange12) Type: bye (Logs you out of ftp). ----------------------------------- ALTERNATIVELY, if you have a net browser like mosaic or netscape, link to ftp://ftp.nhm.ac.uk/ and follow links > paleonet > Publication_Exchange ----------------------------------- ALTERNATIVELY AGAIN, if none of the above works for you, let me know and I will email you the current list. Cheers all. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tim McCormick Dept. of Geology & Applied Geology University of Glasgow Glasgow G12 8QQ United Kingdom Email: tmcc@geology.glasgow.ac.uk -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tim's the name, Measuring trilobites is the game.....
