It was Mark P. not Neil C.

Neil is absolutely right the problem is in the person that originally
posted with the subject. In this case Mark Purnell. Not everyone's
reading will send back a confirmation. It is only those who have Pegasus
(sp?) or Pine readers. I read on elm and it just won't confirm. It may
be possible for the mail readers to be set to refuse to confirm a
reading, but there are good reasons for someone to want to know that
your message has been received or read.

By the way I did send a nice note to Mark P., but not receiving any
answer, I don't know if he is even aware of the problem.
