Hi paleonetters, Just a short note: most Western European unix machines use the latin-1 standard, which allow them to display special characters (with accents, umlauts, etc) used by languages such as French or German. Most North American unix boxes don't use latin-1, so messages containing such characters will be not be displayed correctly (e.g. the e with accent grave is displayed as h, o with umlaut as \, etc.).
